The Ourika Valley. A unique place to cool down during the blazing days of high summer, only 20km from Marrakesh. This green valley cutting deep into the High Atlas Range, is very popular with the inhabitants of Marrakesh, especially in the summer heat.
The Ourika river flows peacefully through the valley, bringing with it the fresh coolness of mountain streams coursing down from the summits above. |

The Lalla Takerkoust reservoir, 30 minutes' drive from Marrakesh. This 7km-long lake behind a dam of the same name, dates back to 1935.There are many different hikes and water sports available, also swimming and relaxing on the peaceful shores of the lake. Just below the dam, there is a quaint little village where you can sample the most delicious tagines and admire the green countryside all around. |
